By using the PDF route, you generally obtain a very passable match
between the colors of original document and those of the final result printed
on the sheet of paper. But from distressing experience you might already know that this is
not always the case in everyday
practice, and that colors usually get merely more or less close to the original – in the end it remains, to some
extent, a game of chance, which represents a rather unsatisfactory situation
for someone, who desires to offer his customers reliable quality standards.
Actually, also these days again (see “c’t” Issue 7/04) experts still
controversially discuss the question what color deviations are still tolerable from a juridical point of view, and
which colors a customer simply does not have to accept anymore.
